The more we repeat this exercise, the stronger the energy becomes. It is best to be sitting with feet flat on the ground for this exercise. Remember to keep the breath slow, gentle and deep - don't force it. 1. As you begin to breathe IN, imagine you are drawing energy up from the centre of the Earth, through your feet and legs, right up to your belly. As you breathe OUT, allow the energy to flow back down into the Earth. Repeat this a few times until you feel comfortable combining the flow of energy with your breath. 2. Now, from the centre of the Universe, breathe IN and begin to draw energy in through the very top of your head, allowing it to flow down into and fill your heart. As you breathe OUT, allow the energy to flow back out through the top of your head to the centre of the Universe. Practice this a few times. 3. Now begin to connect the two - breathe IN from the Earth to your belly, then OUT, through your heart, head and into the Universe. Breathe IN from the Universe, through your head and heart, then OUT through your belly, feet and into the Earth. Repeat until you feel stable and grounded once more. Once you are comfortable with this exercise, you can skip the first two steps and go straight into step 3. If you practice this regularly, you'll find you are able to balance your energy with just a few Connected Breaths, anywhere, anytime - even while stuck at traffic lights in the middle of a busy day! 1. Begin by seating yourself or lying comfortably, placing your hands gently over your belly area to help you focus. Keep each breath gentle, but deep and full. Don't force it. 2.Breathe in -imagine you are drawing your breath/energy inwards from all directions at once, to a tiny point deep in the centre of your belly. 3.Breathe out -allowing the breath/energy to expand outwards from your belly in all directions at once, through the cells of your body, to the space that surrounds you and beyond. With each OUT breath, imagine it extending further and further out from your body, then return the breath to that tiny point in your belly.
